Temptation Island

Series Description

The Temptation Island TV show was a 60 minute reality TV series on the FOX Network where couples were split up and sent to live on the beautiful and romantic island of Ambergris Caye, the largest island of Belize. The woman lived with single guys and the men lived with single women. Would the couples be able to resist the temptation and return to their relationships or would they succumb to the attraction of a more desirable partner?

Temptation Island Trivia

In a very unusual move for a U.S. television program, Temptation Island was created by an international TV production company called "Endemol" located in the Netherlands. The show's concept was then sold to networks all over the world.

Many reality show contestants dream of finding ongoing fame and that actually happened for season one contestant Mandy Lauderdale. She sang on the show and then afterwards got hired to sing on the song "More Like Me" by "Rehab", a platinum selling band! That led her to a successful music career!

The first season of Temptation Island did great in the ratings but apparently the interest was short lived. Season two did not do well at all and it appeared that would be the end of the show. Then FOX decided two years later to give a third season a try but that also bombed.

Temptation Island premiered in the U.S. on January 10, 2001 and its final episode aired on September 29, 2003.
