Round the Twist Theme Song
Written By: "Andrew Duffield"
Performed By: "Tamsin West"
Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen,
Are you going round the twist?
Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen,
Are you going round the twist?
Well have you heard the word about the bird and the spider?
It wiggled and wiggled and jiggled inside her.
Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen,
Are you going round the twist?
Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen,
Are you going? Are you going round the twist?
Round the Twist Trivia
Jeffrey Walker has had quite the career on television! After starring on season two as "Bronson Twist" of "Round the Twist" he starred as "Qwrk" on "Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left" in 1994 and as "Royce Tiegan" on "Mirror, Mirror" in 1995. From 1994-1997 he starred as "Brett Bates" on "Ocean Girl" and in 1997 as "Wayne Wilson" on "The Wayne Manifesto". Since then he has gone on to star on "Thunderstone" and "Spy Shop"!
Using the bathroom in the middle of the night must have been an interesting experience for the Twists. You see, the lighthouse's outhouse was also haunted!
Round the Twist won a Banff Award in 2002 for "Best Children's Program". It tied for the win of a Logie Award in 2001 with the series, "Hi-5" for "Most Outstanding Children's Program" and won the Logie in the same category all by itself in 2002!
Unfortunately, this series has never been seen in its entirety in the United States! A few episodes were broadcast in 1997 on FOX Kids. This may have been due to the fact that references were made to sensitive issues including death, genitals, incest and nudity on Round the Twist. The references were always comical in nature but still may have been a bit much for American audiences.
Round the Twist was nearly unique in that it kept being re-cast over a large number of years. Typically, audiences don't like it much when a new actor takes over a character they've come to love (or hate).
Numerous outdoor scenes were filmed in Aireys Inlet, Victoria, Australia around the region of the Split Point Lighthouse.
