Barry Nelson .... George Cooper My Favorite Husband Trivia
This TV series aired from September of 1953 through December of 1955.
The My Favorite Husband TV show was preceded by the "My Favorite Husband Radio Show" that aired for 126 episodes from 1948-1951 and starred Lucille Ball. It was also the inspiration for Ball's hit TV series, "I Love Lucy". Her co-star on the radio version did not continue in his role as "Lucy's" husband on TV. Lucille Ball wanted the TV series so that she and her husband in real life, "Desi Arnaz" could spend more time together. Prior to the TV show, Desi was travelling almost constantly with his band.
Barry Nelson played the "favorite" husband on TV and he has a remarkable distinction as an actor. He was the very first to play the role as James Bond in a video medium. Others had played "Agent 007" on the radio but audiences say him for the first time visually on the TV series, "Climax!" on the third episode titled, "Casino Royale"!
Two of the female stars on My Favorite Husband also had accomplishments in addition to their acting abilities. Alix Talton was a former Miss Georgia and Vanessa Brown had an I.Q. of 165 which made her perfect in her two years on the "Quiz Kids radio program"!
