Series Description

The Life on Mars TV show was a 60 minute fantasy sci-fi series on ABC that was based on the 2006 British series with the same name. The lead character, detective Sam Tyler, is hit by a speeding police car in the year 2008 and when he regained consciousness he found that he had somehow been transported back in time to the year 1973. Luckily for Sam, the police department in 1973 was mysteriously expecting him to show up as a transferee from another precinct. Other mysteries included the 1970s clothing he had on when he woke, a police ID of the period and a set of keys for a 1971 Chevy Chevelle! On several occasions Sam would refer to things from the future and then have to explain the comment away when his co-workers didn't understand what he was talking about. He also was able to pursue criminals he knew of from the future before they commited their crime. We won't ruin the ending of this series for those who haven't yet seen it but it was unusual and totally unexpected!
