John DiMaggio .... Bender Futurama Trivia:
After the September 11th terrorist attacks in the U.S., the opening scene where a rocket crashes into a huge TV screen was removed. The scene was added back in to episodes beginning the following April.
The name for the series, "Futurama" comes from the General Motors exhibit at the 1939 World's Fair in New York City. Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth comes from real-life inventor Philo T. Farnsworth, the inventor of television, whose invention was shown in public for the first time at the 1939 World's Fair.
In an almost never seen move for a TV series, Futurama is returning with new episodes in mid-2010! Comedy Central bought the rights from FOX to all previous 73 episodes and began re-airing them in January of 2008. They also bought rights to the four feature length Dvds that were produced after the series ended in 2003.
