Series Description The Dream On TV show was a 30 minute adult-oriented comedy series on HBO about a divorced man who was desperate to bring love into his life but had no idea how to connect with women. Series' creator, John Landis asked Universal Studios for permission to use clips from their old TV shows and films to make a new TV series. After receiving the go-ahead, he asked writers David Crane and Marta Kauffman to come up with a storyline that could make use of the old film. They decided that having a guy pursuing women and failing miserably would allow them to use clips from old TV shows and movies as metaphors for what he was "Dreaming of"; hence the title of the series, "Dream On".
