Series Description The 7th Heaven TV show was a 60 minute drama series on the WB Network (first 10 seasons) and the CW Network (11th season) which followed the lives of family of nine living in California. The father was a minister, mom managed the household and family from home and the seven children attended school from kindergarten to High School. They were a very loving family. Mom and dad did their best to raise the kids with traditional Christian values. Many serious issues were explored where there was more than one possible path to take and the kids usually saw the value of choosing the right one.
7th Heaven Cast
Stephen Collins .... Eric Camden 7th Heaven Trivia:
Stephen Collins great-great grandfather was General James B. Weaver. General Weaver ran for President of the United States for the Greenback Party in 1880 and 1892. He lost both times but he did win four states in 1892! Pretty impressive for a third party candidate. Stephen Collins had two other starring roles on two other lesser known series. One was as "Nick Tattinger" on the TV series, "The Tattingers" and the other was as "Jake Cutter" on "Tales of the Gold Monkey".
7th Heaven was not cancelled due to poor ratings like most series. It was cancelled due to rising production costs. At the end each episode was costing $2 million dollars to produce. The stars of the series had become quite popular and demanding larger and larger salaries and other compensation.
Catherine Hicks was a High School cheerleader. She graduated from Gerard High School (Phoenix, Arizona) in 1969. She went on in her studies at St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana with a double major in Theology and English Literature. Then she received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Cornell University! Smart lady! And she has looks too! Her 34-24-34 figure contributed to her being cast as Marilyn Monroe in the made for TV movie: "Marilyn: The Untold Story (1980)".
Jessica Biel began her career as a teen model. She really wanted to break out of the "good girl" image she had at the time, but was then invited to join the cast as Mary Camden on the CW's "7th Heaven". That simply perpetuated her goodie two shoes image and she became even more frustrated. She really tried to get out of her contract but the producers refused. Well, they refused until after she posed nude in Gear Magazine anyway. Then Jessica got what she wanted. The split was fairly amicable though as she guest-stars on 7th Heaven regularly.
Stephen Collins was cast as Commander Decker in the film, "Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)" and Catherine Hicks starred as Doctor Taylor in the film, "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)".
Aaron Spelling produced 7th Heaven and so many other ones that only a very few of his best known can be listed here. Here they are:
David Gallagher started working in TV commercials before the age of two! At 8 years of age he was cast in the lead role of the hit film, "Look Who's Talking Now (1993)"! After that he made many guest appearances on one TV show after another and in 1996 he got a part in the film "Phenomenon" starring John Travolta and then he landed his role on the CW's "7th Heaven".
Barry Watson started modeling at age 8. Six years later at 14, he was cast on the daytime drama "Days of Our Lives". That job only lasted 6 months and things went dry for a while. But at age 19 he got a part on the TV show, "Malibu Shores".
