Karen Cliche .... Jacqueline Roget (alias Jacques LePonte) Young Blades Trivia
Cardinal Mazarin, Queen Anne, and Prince Louis were based on real-life, historical figures.
The four Musketeers were naturally, all very "colorfull" figures. Jacqueline Roget (alias Jacques LePonte) was a woman who dressed as a man to fit in as a Musketeer and also to hide her true identity because she was wanted for murder. D'Artagnan Jr. was the son of D'Artagnan Sr., one of the three Musketeers in the novel by Alexandre Dumas, pere. Siroc was an inventor and Ramon was a poet.
You might be surprised to see Sheena Easton's name on the cast list. Many of us think of her as a singer, but she has also had a respectable acting career. In addition to several movie roles, she has also appeared on many TV series including, "Miami Vice" (1984), "Highlander" (1992), "Jack's Place" (1992), "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr." (1993), "Gargoyles" (1994), and "Young Blades" (2005).
There was a TV pilot filmed in 2001 for a series that was also to be titled, "Young Blades". It would have featured young versions of the Four Musketeers D'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis but it never got picked up by any network.
The final episode of the Young Blades TV show titled, "Secrets" was not appreciated by most fans. The most common complaints were that many of the earlier plotlines were never resolved, the plotline of the episode itself was confusing, and there were way too many flashback scenes. It appeared as if FOX decided to get out of the series as cheaply as possible by using a quickly thrown together script and film that had already been shot.
