Series Description

Yes Dear was a 30 minute comedy series on CBS. Greg and Kim Warner were the perfect parents who believed that their lives should revolve around their children. Kim's sister Christine Hughes and her husband Jimmy were somewhat more relaxed about their family obligations; much more relaxed! Their differences in lifestyles often caused trouble between them, especially once Jimmy and Christine moved into Greg and Kim's backyard guest cottage.

Yes Dear Trivia

In the fifth season episode titled, "The New Neighbors", guest star Shelly Long's character gets Greg a beer and Greg says, "That was fast!" Long responds with, "I used to work in a bar", a reference to her role as a barmaid on the series, "Cheers".

In the fifth season episode titled, "Headshot" Jimmy and Christine experience a flashback to a time when their son Sammy was an infant with them living with Greg and Kim but it had previously been stated that Sammy was one year old when they moved in.

We can only imagine how much fun it must have been for Tim Conway and Vicki Lawrence to guest star on Yes, Dear as Greg's parents. After all, they had worked together as regular Cast for eleven seasons on "The Carol Burnett show".

That wasn't the only goof with the ages of the kids. When Emily is born, Sammy is said to be two years old. Then a dozen or so episodes later they are both supposedly two years old!

There was one Yes Dear Emmy nomination in 2003 in the category "Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series" for an appearance by actress Betty White. Christina Applegate won the coveted award for a guest-starring role on "Friends". Don't feel too bad for Betty though. As of 2010 she has won five Emmys of her own along with a couple of dozen other awards!
