Series Description

The Vampire Diaries TV show is a 60 minute dramatic fantasy/horror series that premiered on September 10, 2009 on the CW. It's about a teenage girl who is in mourning over the loss of her parents in an automobile accident. Two vampire brothers who are centuries old but appear to be teenagers both want her, one for good reasons and the other for evil reasons.

The Vampire Diaries Trivia

This series is based on an Alloy Entertainment book series also called The Vampire Diaries. Alloy Entertainment also publishes other book series including The "A-List", "The Clique", "Gossip Girl", "The Nine Lives of Chloe King" and "Pretty Little Liars". The company also adapts several of their book series to films and TV series.

Vampire Diaries generated a "spin off series" titled "The Originals". The characters for that series were introduced on the 20th episode of Vampire Diaries' fourth season on an episode not surprisingly also titled, "The Originals".
