Series Description
The Shark Tank TV show is a 60 minute entrepreneurial reality series that premiered on August 9, 2009 on ABC. It's about enterprising people who present their businesses or ideas for businesses to a panel of five multi-millionaires/billionaires. If the wealthy panel likes what they see they may offer the entrepreneurs money to invest in the businesses, making dreams come true. Each of the panel members brings unique talents to the potential partnerships including having earned their riches in real estate, a clothing brand and through television marketing via infomercials or home shopping channels. The bankrolls can be huge but they come at a price as the investors typically drive a hard bargain, often asking for large percentages of the entrepreneurs' businesses. Occasionally, an entrepreneur has a goldmine of a business and the investors bid ruthlessly against each other for a piece of the action. Often, they have to tell the entrepreneur to keep their day job because their idea stinks. Some of the most enjoyable segments are when a very young person makes a deal with one of the sharks!
