After being constantly phoned and texted by his boss, David decided to give up the rat race and join his parents in retirement at the young age of 35! Retired at 35 Cast
George Segal .... Alan Robbins (2011-) Retired at 35 Trivia
David's sister Amy Robbins appeared in the pilot and was played by actress "Casey Wilson". Then the sister disappeared for the rest of the first season. When she reappeared in season two as a regular, she was played by "Marissa Jaret Winokur". Don't feel bad for Casey though. She just got way too busy elsewhere since then to come back and reprise her role! She's currently (2012) appearing as regular cast member "Penny Hartz" on the series, "Happy Endings" and she's also landed roles on several upcoming movies!
Like many of the most successful sitcoms, Retired at 35 is shot using a three camera process and in front of a live audience. Desi Arnaz was the developer of the three camera process when he got the idea while producing he and his wife Lucille Ball's groud-breaking comedy series, "I Love Lucy". That process allows scenes to be filmed from three different angles. That gives the film editor a lot of choices and cuts way down on the number of "takes" required to finish a scene.
Retired at 35 is only the second scripted series produced by TV Land. The first was Betty White's hit series, "Hot in Cleveland".
