Series Description

The Reno 911! TV show was a 30 minute comedy series on Comedy Central about seven bumbling Sherrif's deputies. The leader of this nutty group of "crimefighters" is outrageously gay and wore "daisy duke" shorts on duty! The team of deputies are composed of a slutty former magician's assistant, a black female cop with a nasty attitude, a redneck white boy, a crazy racist, a "wannabe" ladies man, and a cop who loves a good interogation ... especially if no ones watching!

Reno 911! Trivia

The police station scenes are shot in the real-life police station of Carson, California. Some of the real-life female cops have complained about the "daisy duke" shorts that Thomas Lennon (Lieutenant Dangle) wears.

The police station shots had to be moved to the Carson Community Center for the finale episodes of season two because a real-life officer had been shot in the police station!

The Reno 911! TV show was nominated for a "GLAAD Media Award" in 2004 for "Outstanding Comedy Series" but it lost out to "Sex and the City".

The regular Reno 911! Cast often also play roles as other characters, but their faces are blurred so you can't recognize them.

The artist renderings (sketches) of suspects that were in the squad room during the second season were done using Reno 911! crew members.

One distinction of Reno911! is that script dialog is rarely used. There's often just more of an outline of what's to go on and the actors improvise their lines.
