Series Description The Partners TV show was a 30 minute comedy series that premiered on September 24, 2012 on CBS. It wa about two guys who were lifelong friends and had a lot in common. They both even became architects and went into business together. It was a bromance if ever there was one! There was just one little way in which they are different. Louis was gay and Joe was straight. Now that obviously was never a problem but when Louis formed a new relationship and Joe got engaged, even lifelong friends could find themselves getting a bit jealous of the attention that their "bud" no longer had the time to give them. Would the boys be able to let go a bit and allow their best friends to have relationships that didn't include the two of them? Partners Cast
Michael Urie .... Louis Partners Trivia
In a pretty serious controversy, many critics have noted that the 1995 Fox sitcom also titled, "Partners" had many characteristics in common with this series. Both feature young architects whose friendship is challenged when one of them gets engaged. On this series the female fiance's name is "Ali" and on the 1995 series her name was "Alicia". James Burrows also directed both series. Jeff Greenstein who wrote for the 1995 series claims that "David Kohan" and "Max Mutchnick" who are the creators of this 2012 version told him that they were big fans of the Fox series when he worked with them on "Will and Grace".
Kohan and Mutchnick say that this series is based on their real-life relationship as long-time friends who work together.
There were seven episodes of Partners that were produced but not broadcast due to early cancellation of the series. Their titles were, "Pretty Funny", "My Best Friend's Wedding Ring", "Troubled Water", "Straight Man's Best Friend", "The Archives", "Two Nines and a Pair of Queens" and "Sperm und Drang.
