Jimmy Brogan .... Random Trivia
There is disagreement as to whether or not the Out of the Blue TV show was a "spin-off" of "Happy Days" or "Mork and Mindy" or either of the two. Random did appear on "Happy Days" but that episode aired after "Out of the Blue" had already aired. Therefore, many people considered the "Happy Days" episode to be a crossover rather than a "spin-off". Actually, the "Happy Days" episode was originally planned to air first. The first episode of "Out of the Blue" was filmed before that date so that the new series could hit the airwaves immediately after Random's introduction on "Happy Days". Then due to scheduling technicalities, they aired in the wrong order! The show was definitely not a "spin-off" of "Mork and Mindy" even though Mork did appear on the first episode. In our judgement, "Out of the Blue" was intended to be a "Happy Days" "spin-off" so why not just leave it that way?
There were definitely six additional episodes of the Out of the Blue TV show that were produced but were not broadcast. Their titles were: "Out for the Season", "Surprise Party", "The Reluctant Angel", "Random Who?", "The Thanksgiving Show", and "Keeping the Housekeeper. Some sources claim that there were two more episodes produced but do not list any titles for them.
Aunt Marion needed financial help so she could raise her nephews and nieces so she decided to take in a boarder. That's how Random got into the household.
The reasoning for why Mork should appear on the first episode was that he and Random were old friends because Mork's planet Ork and Heaven were located near each other. That great script-writing may have had something to do with why the series ended so quickly!
The "Pilot" episode on "Happy Days" made more sense. Chachi had lost his soul to the devil and Random used his Angelic powers to help him get it back. Just think! Without Random's help, the series, "Joanie Loves Chachi" may never have happened!
Besides boarding in Aunt Marion's home, Random also worked as a high-school teacher.
Aunt Marion did not know that Random was an Angel with powers but the kids did. Random's most often used power was the ability to "teleport" people and objects instantly from one place to another.
