Series Description
The Melrose Place TV show was a 60 minute drama series on the FOX Network. The show concentrated on the business and personal lives of numerous twenty-somethings, most of whom at least part of the way through the series resided at a swinging singles apartment building in West Hollywood, California. It wasn't an easy life on Melrose Place. Love often left the residents with broken hearts. Unscrupulous business activities often ruined careers. Arson, murder, corruption, affairs, bombings, multiple personalities, weddings, divorces, etc. Yes ... Melrose Place had it all and very little of it was nice!

Melrose Place Trivia
Melrose Place was a "spin-off" of the series, "Beverly Hills 90210" due to the fact that actor Grant Show appeared as Jake Hanson on episode #49 and 50 of Beverly Hills 90210 as Luke Perry's boyhood mentor and then as the same character on Melrose Place.
Lisa Rinna was not the first choice to play the role of Taylor McBride. Hunter Tylo had been given the part but she got pregnant shortly afterwards. She was fired due to a clause in her contract that prohibited her from changing her appearance. That's typical for actors as fans become familiar with a certain look and changing it dramatically can affect ratings. Of course, this was the 1990s and women's rights were in full swing! Hunter sued the producers who fired her and won a whopping $4.9 million! And to make matters even sweeter for Hunter, she immediately landed the role as "Dr. Taylor Hayes" on the daytime soap opera, "The Bold and the Beautiful" where she's still working to this day (2011)! Winning is nice but winning big is really nice!
The apartment complex was located at 4616 Melrose Place in West Hollywood, California.
Aaron Spelling produced this TV show and so many other ones that only a very few of his best known can be listed here. Here they are:
"Johnny Ringo (1959)", "Daniel Boone (1964)", "The Mod Squad (1968)", "The Rookies (1972)", "Starsky and Hutch (1975)", "Charlie's Angels (1976)", "The Love Boat (1977)", "Fantasy Island (1978)", "Hart to Hart (1979)", "Dynasty (1981)", "T.J. Hooker (1982)", "Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990)", "Melrose Place (1992)", "7th Heaven (1996)", "Charmed (1998)".
Pretty much every twenty-something aspiring actor wanted to get a role on Melrose Place. Aaron Spelling Productions had created many a star and reinvigorated many a fading career. The prospects for lots of seasons of work were outstanding! Some of the actors you may have heard of who auditioned but didn't get roles include Pamela Anderson, Dean Cain, Courteney Cox, Calista Flockhart, Kathy Ireland, Julianna Margulies, Paul Rudd and Noah Wyle!
Taking full advantage of relatively new technology, crew members on Melrose Place sold bottles of water from the swimming pool (after the series ended) on the web at a site that was only four years old at the time. You might have heard of Ebay?
Although she appeared on nearly every episode starting with the 22nd one, Heather Locklear was credited as a "special guest star" throughout most of Melrose Place's run! She actually appeared in more episodes than anyone else except Thomas Calabro (Dr. Michael Mancini)!
With such a huge number of Cast, it's hard to believe, but Thomas Calabro was the only one of the original cast to stay on Melrose Place for its entire run!
