Series Description

The McCarthys TV show is a 30 minute comedy series on CBS about a loving Irish-American family with an equal love for sports. When dad who is a high school basketball coach decides to take on his gay son who has no athletic talent whatsoever as his assistant coach, the other members of his family who are all sports enthusiasts object loudly!

The McCarthys Trivia

Tyler Ritter comes from a prestigious show business family. His grandfather, Tex Ritter was a huge singing cowboy star in many movies from the mid-1930s through the 1960s. His father John Ritter starred on numerous TV shows including "The Waltons", "Hooperman", "Hearts Afire" and "8 Simple Rules" but he's probably best remembered as "Jack Tripper" on "Three's Company" and its spinoff series, "Threes A Crowd". Oh yeah; let's not forget that he provided the voice for Clifford on the series, "Clifford the Big Red Dog"! Tyler's older brother Jason has starred on "Joan of Arcadia", "The Class", "The Event", "Gravity Falls" and "Parenthood". His mother and grandmother also had impressive show business credits.
