Steve Coogan .... Alan Partridge Knowing Me, Knowing You Trivia
As most music lovers probably suspected, the title of this series is taken from Abba's hit song, "Knowing Me, Knowing You".
The fictional Alan Partridge character has appeared on numerous programs in the UK where he was treated as if he was a real life person. In addition to the radio and TV versions of "Knowing Me, Knowing You", the shows Alan appeared on were "On the Hour" (Radio Series), "The Day Today", "Comic Relief", "The Big Snog" (A live show supporting gay rights in 1996), "I'm Alan Partridge", "Clive Anderson: All Talk", "Election Night Armistice (Political Satire Program), "Brit Awards (Presenting award for "Best Video), "Steve Coogan Live: The Man Who Thinks He's It", "Comedy Awards (Performed a Duet With Elton John), "Anglian Lives" (Spoof Career Retrospective With Peter Baynham in 2003) and "Cream of British Comedy" (Live Shows in 2004 and 2005).
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Alan Partridge is that he is a despicable character that most people would despise in real life but the way that his anti-social behavior gets him into trouble is very appealing to audiences ... and funny!
In 1994, Knowing Me, Knowing You won the British Comedy Awards for "Best Male TV Performer" (Steve Coogan) and for "Best New TV Comedy". In 1995 the series received two BAFTA nominations for "Best Light Entertainment Series" and for "Best Light Entertainment Performance" (Steve Coogan).
