Justice League Trivia
The series was originally titled, "Justice League of America" but was shortened to "Justice League" in order to give the show a more worldwide appeal.
In episode #22, "Metamorphosis - Part 1", the Green Lantern was originally going to prevent a plane crash, but in deference to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, they changed the script so he would stop a train wreck instead.
The first season of Justice League was produced in "full-screen" mode. Starting in the second season, all episodes were produced in "wide-screen" mode. Beginning in season 3, the series' title became, "Justice League Unlimited". That was the name of the super-heroes' team on the series, "Batman Beyond". The episodes were also reduced from one hour in length to 30 minutes in the third season and each episode tells a complete story (no more parts 1, 2, etc).
In episodes #37 and #38, "A Better World - Parts 1 and 2", Batman's secret code is 91939. That is a take-off on the first Batman comic book which went on sale September 19, 1939.
Most of the voices for the Justice League super-heroes were done by the same actors that had done them on previous series. Timothy Daly ("Wings"), however, could not do his voice as the Superman character because he had been cast in the lead role on the series, "The Fugitive (2000)".
Justice league's writers named the Senator in the pilot episode, "Senator Wells" after famed sci-fi writer, "H.G. Wells".
Episode #39, "Eclipsed - Part 1", aired on a night when there was a total eclipse of the moon over North America!
You might have wondered why Aquaman, a member of the Justice League in the comics, was left out of this series. It was done simply to make room for Hawkgirl and provide little girls with a second female character. In a similar vein, the Green Lantern was of African descent to provide black children with a super-hero with whom they could more readily identify.
