Series Description
The Jake And The Fatman TV show was a 60 minute crime drama series on CBS about a serious district attorney and his special investigator who didn't take life quite so seriously. Their personalities may have clashed, but they always managed to work together to get the job done!

The Jake and the Fatman TV show was a "spin-off" of the series, "Matlock" (See details below).
Jake and the Fatman created a "spin-off" of its own when Dick Van Dyke appeared for the first time as Dr. Sloan, the character who would become central in the series, "Diagnosis Murder"! That first look at Dr. Sloan happened on episode #77, "It Never Entered My Mind".
The 1st season's episodes of Jake and the Fatman took place in Los Angeles, California. In the second season, Jake and the Fatman moved to Hawaii. Halfway through the fourth season, it returned to L.A.
