Series Description The Gemini Man TV show was a 60 minute sci-fi spy series on NBC about a man named Sam Casey who worked for a U.S. government think tank that specialized in undercover missions that absolutely had to remain secret. On one mission, Sam was exposed to radiation from an underwater explosion while scuba diving. The radiation caused him to become invisible. A computer expert at the think tank was able to make Sam a watch-like "controller" that restored his visibility. Sam was able to turn back to invisibility by turning the controller off but only for a maximum of 15 minutes per day! Sam then used his invisibility for his missions as The Gemini Man! Ben Murphy .... Sam Casey The Gemini Man Trivia:
There were six episodes of the Gemini Man TV show that were produced but did not air due to early cancellation of the series. Their titles were: "Escape Hatch", "Eight- Nine - Ten You're Dead", "Targets", "Suspect Your Local Police", "Buffalo Bill Rides Again", and "Return of the Lion".
If you never saw Gemini Man, you may still remember Ben Murphy from his roles on "Alias Smith and Jones", "Lottery!", "The Name of the Game", and the "Winds of War Miniseries".
The government think tank that that the Gemini Man worked for was called, "INTERSECT".
One of the exciting aspects of the show was that almost no secret mission could be carried out in less than the 15 minutes of invisibility that Sam Casey had each day. It would look as if he wasn't going to make it as the controller counted past 14 minutes ... 14 minutes 30 seconds, etc. Oh, by the way, Sam could remain invisible more than 15 minutes but if he did he would die!
The Gemini Man TV show would have had to be exceptional to survive its time slot! At 8:00PM on Thursday evenings. ABC was airing "Welcome Back, Kotter" and "Barney Miller" at that time and CBS was broadcasting "The Waltons"! The only audience left for Gemini Man were the "die-hard" sci-fi viewers.
