He also told those who were in the job simply for a paycheck that they could either get with the program or start looking for another career! He also, with the help of Ella Farmer, replaced the antiquated, file card record-keeping system with a high-tech electronic one. His goal was to cut the crime rate by at least half! The District Cast
Craig T. Nelson .... Chief Jack Mannion The District Trivia:
You might remember Jonathan LaPaglia better from his starring role on the series, "7 Days".
When Lynne Thigpen died suddenly from a cerebral hemorrhage, the District writers simply explained her disappearance by having her also die on the series. Losing her character was a major loss for the series and, of course, for her co-stars.
Craig T. Nelson uses his middle initial "T" as his showbiz name because another actor named Craig Richard Nelson had already registered his name with the Screen Actors Guild. This show's Craig Nelson also starred in another series titled, "Coach" which aired for a whopping nine seasons!
