Jill Hennessy .... Doctor Jordan Cavanaugh Crossing Jordan Trivia:
In the beginning, series creator "Tim Kring" didn't feel sure about casting Jill Hennessy as the tough, hard-nosed Jordan Cavanaugh. He'd only seen her work as "Assistant D.A. Claire Kincaid" on "Law & Order" and as "Jackie Kennedy" on the 2001 TV movie, "Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot". Both of those roles were about as far off from that of Jordan as you could get! Then Kring agreed to meet Hennessy at a restaurant that he chose for breakfast and when they got there it wasn't open. As Kring started apologizing, Hennessy said, "Dude, who gives a shit? We'll go someplace else"! At that moment Kring realized that he had his Jordan!
The beginning of the third season was delayed because Jill was pregnant with her son Marco.
Jill, like most actors, had to find other ways to supplement her income while building her career. She even played the guitar and sang in the New York City Subways for money at one point.
Believe it or not, Jill speaks French, Spanish, German and Italian (and Engilish, of course)!
Miguel Ferrer is the son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney. He's also the cousin of George Clooney (ER TV Show), and he sings and plays the drums in a band called "The Jenerators" with his friend Bill Mumy ("Lost in Space" and "Babylon 5").
Jerry O'Connell read for two TV pilots during his junior year at the NYU Film School. He went to Los Angeles for one day only and landed the role of Bailey Salinger on the series, "Party of Five". He was the second choice for the role of Quinn Mallory on the series, "Sliders" but the actor who was the first choice backed out and Jerry decided to take that leading role instead!
Crossing Jordan was canceled by NBC on May 14, 2007.
