There were five additional episodes of Center of the Universe that were produced but did not air before the series was canceled. Their titles were "It's the Principal of the Thing", "Oh, Brother, What the Hell Were You Thinking?", "The Break-In", "Marathon Woman", and "Independence Day".
When CBS first announced that Center of the Universe would air, the last name of the family was given as "Pressman", not "Barnett".
John Goodman's very first job was as a bouncer! He graduated from Southwest Missouri State with a degree in drama and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon national fraternity. After graduation, he moved to New York's "Hell's Kitchen" district and worked as a waiter while looking for acting jobs. His first TV appearance was in a Burger King commercial. The producers of the 1994 Movie, "The Flintstones" stated that they would have scrapped the project if John had not accepted the role of Fred Flintstone!
Goodman's character on the TV series, "Roseanne" (Dan Conner) was #13 on TV Guides "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time" list!
