Blue Bloods Trivia:
Tom Selleck turned down the lead role in the 1981 movie, "Indiana Jones - The Temple of Doom" because he would be doing the Magnum P.I. series during the movie's filming. The movie finished filming by December of 1980 when Magnum P.I. premiered. If Tom would have known there would be a writer's strike, he could have taken the role in the movie.
Tom appeared on television for the first time at only 20 years old on "The Dating Game". He then appeared on the show again two years later. Believe it or not he lost both times even though 21 years later he would be named the "Sexiest Man Alive" in a poll by "The Ladie's Home Journal".
Tom is only five years younger than Len Cariou who plays his father, Henry Reagan on the show.
Jennifer Esposito who played Detective Jackie Curatola for the first three seasons has Coeliac Disease which made it very difficult for her to deal with the shooting schedule. The writers were willing to adapt her role so that she could cope but CBS fired her anyway.
