Adventures of Hiram Holliday Cast
Wally Cox .... Hiram Holliday Trivia:
There were three episodes of the Adventures of Hiram Holliday that were produced but not broadcast due to early cancellation of the series. Their titles were "The Surplus General", "Amontillado", and "The Invisible Man".
The TV show was based on a 1939 novel by Paul Gallico which was also titled, "Adventures of Hiram Holliday".
Hiram achieved his super hero skills by years of training in activities including several types of physical combat, markmanship, rock climbing and scuba diving among others.
Wally Cox played mostly meek characters during his career but in actuality he was extremely fit with a rock hard body. Unfortunately, Wally suffered from typecasting. He also played a meek Junior High School Science teacher in his best known role on the series, "Mr. Peepers". Who knows what great roles Mr. Cox could have played if not for that typecasting?
Probably the main reason that the Adventures of Hiram Holliday didn't last long is that the budget for the show was miniscule. That made the depictions of the exotic locales he travelled to very hard to make appear realistic and made the rest of the plotline that much harder to believe.
