Series Description

The Queen's Gambit is a historical drama series that aired all seven episodes on Netflix on October 23, 2020. It's about an 8-year-old orphan girl who is a chess genius. She appears to be nearly emotionless individual, perhaps as a response to a disappointing childhood but she nevertheless goes on to successfully participate in the professional chess circuit. The pressures of life eventually cause her to become a loner and she becomes addicted to tranquilizers!
